Juan Carlos Espinoza Salomon, MD, is the Chief Research Informatics Officer at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Associate Director of the Center for Biomedical Informatics and Data Science at Northwestern University. He is also the Director and Principal Investigator of the West Coast Consortium for Technical & Innovation in Pediatrics, an FDA-funded pediatric medical device accelerator. Over the last decade, Dr. Espinoza has immersed himself in pediatric medical device development from concept to commercialization, with a particular focus on the role of data and real world evidence in accelerating pediatric innovation. His research focuses on identifying, refining, and innovating approaches to using data and technology to improve health outcomes and narrow the health gap faced by marginalized communities in the US and abroad.
