- Inflection Point for Real-World Evidence? The Transformational Role of Digital Health – Dr. Fleurence will moderate the first plenary session – featuring Adrian F. Hernandez, MD, MHS (Duke University School of Medicine), Michelle McMurry-Heath, MD, PhD (Johnson & Johnson), Danica Marinac-Dabic, MD, PhD, MMSc, FISPE (CDRH, FDA), and Sally Okun, RN, MMHS (PatientsLikeMe) – on the shift from using traditional clinical trials to leveraging RWE. The session will feature learnings from cutting-edge initiative leaders on the current barriers to using RWE and what the future holds both within and outside of the U.S.
- The Changing Landscape of Health Care Decision-Making – How can we Leverage the use of Real-World Evidence for Regulatory, Coverage, and Clinical Decision-Making? – During this NESTcc panel, Dr. Fleurence will lead a discussion with representatives from the medical device ecosystem – including Owen Faris, PhD (CDRH, FDA), Daniel Caños, PhD, MPH (CMS)*, and Kathleen Blake, MD, MPH (American Medical Association) – regarding the need for high-quality RWE in regulatory, coverage, and clinical decision-making.
- Value of Information (VOI) Analysis for Research Decisions Emerging Good Practices Task Force: Final Recommendations – Fleurence will moderate discussion among task force members on successful use cases of VOI analysis, barriers to current application, how to overcome them, and future research directions.
