Boston Scientific Joins NEST Governance Committee

NEST is pleased to announce Boston Scientific Corporation, a leading global medical device company, as the newest member of its Governance Committee.

“It is an honor to welcome Boston Scientific to the committee,” shared Simon Mason, President, NEST.  “Their leadership in harnessing real-world data (RWD) and real-world evidence (RWE) will bring tremendous value to our collective efforts to advance medical device evaluation and improve patient outcomes across the product lifecycle.”

NEST’s mission aims to accelerate patient access to life-changing medical device and diagnostic innovation by supporting the sustainable generation and use of timely, reliable, and cost-effective RWE solutions to inform regulatory decision-making. To advance this mission, NEST’s Governance Committee plays a pivotal role by collaboratively identifying and prioritizing key initiatives that drive RWE generation for medical devices in support of regulatory submission packages, all while ensuring a patient-centered, inclusive, accountable, and transparent approach.

“At Boston Scientific, our purpose – advancing science for life – drives everything we do,” said Dr. Katie Zhu, Global Director, Real World Evidence, Boston Scientific and newly appointed member of the NEST Governance Committee. “Joining NEST is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the future of real-world evidence and support smarter evidence generation that helps ensure innovative technologies reach patients safely, effectively and efficiently.”

The NEST Governance Committee is responsible for identifying and prioritizing key initiatives that advance RWE generation across the medical device ecosystem. With decades of experience delivering breakthrough technologies and a deep commitment to clinical excellence and quality across multiple therapeutic areas, Boston Scientific is well positioned to contribute meaningfully to this important work.
